For centuries and generations, Japanese artisans have continuously improved their products – be it swords, ceramics, wood saws, brushes, or fishing rods. While these items can certainly be produced more cheaply or quickly than these artisans did, they can never be made better: the pursuit of perfection is their obligation, their fulfillment, and their very reason for living.
