Advantages of our straw mulch:
Soil protection: Straw mulch protects the soil from the effects of extreme temperatures, erosion, and soil compaction. The mulch layer acts as an insulating barrier, protecting the soil from temperature fluctuations and erosion caused by wind and water.
Moisture retention: Mulch plays an important role in maintaining soil moisture. By reducing evaporation, the soil stays moist for longer, which is particularly beneficial during dry periods. This leads to more efficient water use and promotes plant growth.
Weed suppression: One of the main functions of straw mulch is to suppress weed growth. The mulch layer forms an impenetrable barrier that prevents weed seeds from germinating and growing. This eliminates the need for hand weeding and simplifies garden maintenance.
Temperature regulation: Straw mulch contributes to soil temperature regulation. It insulates the soil and protects your plants' roots from extreme temperatures. This promotes healthy plant growth and provides optimal conditions for the development of your root systems.
Nutrient supply: As straw mulch decomposes, nutrients are gradually released. This natural process ensures a slow and continuous supply of nutrients to your plants. The released nutrients improve soil fertility and promote plant growth and development.
Less maintenance: Using straw mulch reduces the amount of work required in your garden. By suppressing weed growth, it minimizes the time and effort needed for weeding. Straw mulch also reduces the need for watering, as it retains moisture better in the soil.
Soil structure improvement: Straw mulch contributes to improving soil structure, particularly by promoting soil aeration and supplying organic matter. The decomposition of the mulch leads to the formation of humus, which improves soil quality in the long term.
